Famous last words ...

"Weather.com says no rain until 6:00, we don't need to bring our coats". Well, by the time we took the metro out to Jardin Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne, it was spitting rain and by the time we had figured out our route, it was really raining. So, we referred to our trusty Time Out guide and find a museum that's close and open. We braved the rain and hoofed it 5 wet blocks to the Musee de la Contrefacon - the museum of counterfitting (what? we were desperate!) - only to find that it didn't open until 2:00. We then popped onto a market to get out of the rain and regroup. The girls were troopers but we decided to call a rain delay on this outing and head home. After lunch we pulled out a rainy day art project which kept the girls busy for a good part of the afternoon.

It cleared up after a few hours so we got brave and set off again - this time for a boat cruise of the Seine. This is not any boat cruise - this was a cruise designed specifically for children with singing, dancing elves to tell you all about the sights as we float past. As it turns out, the singing & dancing part was not enough to keep the girls engaged since the elves were singing exclusively in French. They enjoyed the novelty of the boat ride though and had a few of the songs stuck in their heads on the way home.

Jack and I had dinner out at Dominique Bouchet and loved it. We've decided to ease up on the big tasting menus - I have only booked one seat for myself on the flight home and if I keep eating like this - I might need two.

Bonne nuit
